Can't sleep

So, it's 2:17 a.m. and I'm still awake.

I've sent a dozen e-mails, designed two business cards (well, designed one concept and tried out two different names) for my somewhere-in-the-future business plans.

All that's left, short of staring at the ceiling, is to update my blog.

So, here goes.

I've been back in Austin for eight days now. I moved to a place a fair bit south of where I lived last year. It's incredibly convenient to everywhere I need to go, and it's a nice space. I'm living with the girlfriend of one of the guys in my program. She's a graduate nursing student, so when I inevitably wound myself in the kitchen, or walking down the hall, help's not too far away.

I'm really glad to be back. I am ready to get back into a groove, and it's been nice to see people I haven't seen in a few months. School starts next Wednesday, with Seminar in Photographic Criticism at 9 a.m. Thankfully it only meets one day a week (I have a wee problem with mornings).

Tomorrow my roommate and I are going shopping for paint. At the moment, the walls in my room are lime green and neon orange. One of my friends stopped by and likened it to living inside a box of post-it notes. I think we're going to paint the walls a nice, neutral gray. I'm going to hang some art, which I think will pop nicely on a gray wall.

Drove out to Johnson City a few days ago. Took a look at the LBJ Ranch, and while driving around the Johnsons' neighbors' place, saw the following:
