Sometimes, being a TA makes me a little crazy. It's frustrating and difficult and can be disheartening.

It can also be an absolutely incredible feeling, as it was last night. We held our first lab of the semester, and I feel like we got off to a really outstanding start. It's a fairly large lab for the class, about 10 students. We went over some of the basic tools in InDesign and talked very generally about some of the concepts to which they'll be introduced this semester. I could tell from their responses that they're learning and understanding. We also managed to have a good time, and sprinkle a few laughs in during our hour-and-a-half together.

I won't be in my lab Thursday evening (have to go to a scholarship dinner, so my co-TA is covering for me), which is a little disappointing, because it's an even smaller lab, and I have high hopes for it.
